Zambia: Times of Zambia Journalists Call Off Strike

Times of Zambia of employees have called off their two day strike following the promise by management to address their three months salary arrears.

The workers who had been on strike for two days were also incensed by arbitrary transfers of employees perceived to be pro strikes and also management having bought themselves luxurious cars whilst workers go without pay.

On Wednesday acting Labour Minister Chishimba Kambwili held an impromptu press briefing directing management to pay the workers within 14 days.

Times of Zambia employees have endured delayed salaries while government has cast a deaf ear to calls to have the oldest newspaper company in the country privatized.
