Kenya: NHIF Ex-Boss to Get Witness Accounts

A Nairobi court has ordered the prosecution to supply copies of witness statements to former National Hospital Insurance Fund boss Richard Kerich and four other senior managers facing Sh96.5 million fraud charges.

Trial magistrate Doreen Mulekyo of the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court yesterday directed investigating officers in the case to ensure the defence have received all copies of the statements before the hearing on June 18.

Kerich is jointly charged with former NHIF strategy and cooperate planning manager David Kipruto Chingi, assistant manager Fedhili Chacha, Clinix Health Care Ltd director Anthony Kalathir Chacko and manager Toddy Madahana. They have denied conspiring to defraud NHIF of Sh96,565,125.
