Gambia: NYC Conducts in-House Training for Its Personnel

The National Youth Council (NYC) recently ended a two-day capacity building programme for its personnel on the NYC Act 2000, centered on management and governance, held at the Friendship Hostel in Bakau.

The in-house training brought together over thirty participants including representatives of youth organisations throughout the country. The objective was to strengthen the participants' knowledge on youth policy and management so as to enable them realise the governance policies of the Council. In her opening remarks, the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Nancy Nyang, commended the Youth Council for coming up with such important initiative, stating that capacity building is part of the Council's step to envision better future. This she emphasised, will further improve the capacity of youths on management and governance.
