Happy. Excited. Overjoyed. That's how Behati Prinsloo's proud father feels about her upcoming wedding to Adam Levine.
The Grootfontein pastor, Boet Prinsloo, was ecstatic as he spoke about the pending nuptials. "We [the family] are very happy and excited about the wedding," he said. He confirmed that the wedding will take place on 19 July in Mexico, but could not say where exactly in Mexico.
Growing up, Behati (25) was an outgoing child who loved the outdoors. "She was like any normal child, very outgoing and enjoyed going out for hikes and anything to do with the outdoors," said Prinsloo, a pastor at the AFM church in Grootfontein.
The Victoria's Secret model has been linked to Maroon 5's lead singer Levine (35) for two years, with wedding rumours surrounding the pair over the last year.
Levine once told former 'The Tonight Show' host Jay Leno that he would never get married but soon ate his words on a subsequent episode, jokingly telling Leno: "Famous last words. 'I'll never get married.' You know, I still don't think you have to get married, unless you meet someone that makes you want to marry them. And then you marry them and it's wonderful."
There are no indications as to where the honeymoon will be and although Behati vacations in Namibia every year, there is no sign that she will be headed back home soon after the wedding. "We do hope that they will both be coming to Namibia after the wedding but it won't be anytime soon," said Prinsloo. He admitted that there were suggestions for the ceremony to be held in Namibia but Mexico was ultimately chosen as the destination for the much anticipated nuptials.
"Behati appreciates all the support she has been receiving from Namibians," said Prinsloo, who added that the location of the wedding doesn't matter much to the family, as long as the pair get married.
The stunning model hasn't forgotten her roots, having been involved in charitable projects with the AFM church who conduct outreaches and are involved in charitable programmes in Grootfontein and across Namibia.
