Kenya: Mwadeghu Moves to End Mining Feuds

WUNDANYI MP Thomas Mwadeghu plans to end the wrangles surrounding iron ore mining in his constituency.

The move comes at a time when divisions have rocked the leadership of Kishushe Cooperative Society over who is supposed to mine iron ore in their ranch. The society's leadership is divided into two groups; one supports Wanjala Mining Company while the other supports new investor, Messrs Samruddha Resources Kenya Ltd.

Speaking at Kishushe during a public meeting on Monday, Mwadeghu said Kishushe is blessed with vast resources. He said the wrangles have slowed down its development potential. "You are blessed with resources but you don't benefit because of wrangles."
