Somalia: Government Tries to Contain the Fighting in Lower Shabelle

The Somali government is trying hard to contain the fighting in different parts of Lower Shabelle Region.

There are ongoing clashes between two rival clans and so far many people including civilians have lost their lives. Yesterday, the Somali Federal Government sent ministers including the Interior Minister and Minister for Defence to the areas affected. The federal government also sent members of parliament from that region to the areas affected by the fighting. By last night, these leaders have already started talking to the rival groups and advised them to stop the fighting. They advised them to remove the rival militias from the areas affected by the clashes.
