Cairo — Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said on Thursday that Egypt's new cabinet will convene for the first time next Monday.
The cabinet "will hold its first meeting on Monday after the new ministerial formation is complete early next week", the prime minister said.
Mahlab, who was prime minister of former President Adli Mansour's cabinet, continues on Friday his deliberations to form the new cabinet.
The former cabinet tendered its resignation last Monday after Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had taken the oath of office.
Sisi, former Defence Minister and ex-army chief, put Mahlab in charge of picking new ministers.
Al-Ahram newspaper had quoted unnamed government sources as saying that some ex-ministers will get to keep their positions in the new cabinet.
