Nigeria: NLC Rebuffs Pressure to Endorse Fayemi

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has endorsed Governor Kayode Fayemi for a second term despite what it claimed were strong external pressures on it not to recognize and endorse him for a second term.

The national president of the NLC Abdulheed Omar who at the weekend led a delegation of the Central Working Committee, CWC of the NLC to Governor Fayemi told him that he has performed creditably well and deserving of a second term as governor of the state, adding "We hope that the governor will invite us for a tea party after June 21 election, by the special Grace of God."
