Kenya: Budget Too Costly, Says Wamalwa

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has said the 2014-15 budget estimates are overambitious.

Wamalwa said it will be difficult for the government to fund the budget.

Treasury Secretary Henry Rotich presented the Sh1.8 trillion budget to Parliament on Thursday.

"The World Bank report indicates that Kenya is among the top 10 countries worldwide that rely on borrowing and there is need to ensure that our budget depends on internal funding," said Wamalwa at Kitale Ministries Training Institute on Saturday.

The county was launching the Trans Nzoia Strategic Plan.

The function was attended by Deputy Governor Stanley Tarus, Senators Zipporah Kittony and Catherine Mukite and area Chamber of Commerce executive secretary Martin Waliaula.
