Somalia: Italy Stopping Rescuing of Immigrants From Drowning Into the Sea

The Italian Interior Ministry says that the Italian Government will no longer rescue the illegal immigrants who try to come to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea.

Italian Interior Minister, Angelino Alfano told reporters that Italy will stop the functions of the ships that rescue the illegal immigrants. He added that they were fed up of rescuing the illegal immigrants as their boats sink every now and then.

Recently, the number of illegal immigrants who try to get to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea between Libya and Italy was on the rise. Many of these immigrants leave countries in the Horn of Africa such as Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia.
