Africa: Delayed Approvals Halt Golf Estate in Eldoret

Construction of the first live-in golf estate in North Rift was thrown off-track by State agencies' delay in issuing requisite approvals. Sergoit Golf and Wildlife Resorts' top management have said bureaucracy has cost them time, seeing many a potential investors stay away.

The behind-schedule development, valued at an estimated Sh40 billion, was initially slated for completion in 2016. It is located near Eldoret town and Eldoret International Airport. It is planned on more than 3,000 acres, hosting three golf courses and athletics training tracks.
