Gambia: Prosecution Closes Case in Mambury Njie's Trial

The prosecution in the matter involving the state against Mambury Njie, the former minister of Finance, led by Simon A Abi, the deputy director of Special Litigation, Tuesday informed the High Court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Mikailu Abdulahi that he was closing the case for the prosecution in the trial.

When the matter was mentioned, the state lawyer said he was closing the case for the prosecution, as the other witnesses for the prosecution are not within the jurisdiction of the court, after which the defense counsel, lawyer L S Camara informed that he is "minded to make a no-case-to-answer submission, either orally or write if the court permits."
