Nigeria: OAU Shut Indefinitely

Osogbo — The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, have announced the indefinite closure of the institution following persistent and violent protest embarked by the students of the university over increase in the school's charges.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Abiodun Olarewaju, said the Senate of the university reached the decision to forestall further breakdown of law and order and safeguard live and property on the campus.
