The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, is probably the most potent political voice of the South Eastern part of the country. The organization has attempted on several occasions to articulate the pulse of the people in the Nigerian political scene.
Like most human assemblage of diverse individuals with equally varied points of view on issues, the organization has had its ups and down moments. However, given their unambiguous presence in the Nigerian consciousness, they can be pardoned for some vox pas that they record once in a while.
