Liberia: 'I Am Guilty'- Murder Suspect Confesses in Court

Margibi — A few months after his arrest by police in Margibi County for allegedly stabbing to death a senior student of the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata, Margibi, suspect Isaac Dolo has openly confirmed in court that he committed the murder. Dolo made the confession in the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata after the clerk of court read the indictment to him recently when he was arraigned in court in view of the public.

He told the court that he was under the influence of alcohol, and pleaded for mercy from the court, but has been sentenced for 35 years at age 18. Usually, in a court of competent jurisdiction, an indictment is read by the clerk of court to the defendant and thereafter seeks his plead. Most defendants plead not guilty.
