Mozambique: Renamo Guerrillas Retaliate, Attack Muxúnguè Village

Armed clashes between government forces and Renamo guerrillas fell upon the administrative post of Muxúnguè on Tuesday (June 17).

According to sources in Muxúnguè village, Renamo men warned that they would attack the garrison of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in the village in retaliation for an attack on their base in Mangomonhe which took place during early morning. A convoy of civilian vehicles was attacked on Tuesday afternoon and at least one injured citizen has been registered.
