Angola: Inaugural Flight of National Geology Starts Today in Cuando Cubango

Luanda — The inaugural flight of aero-geophysical survey in the province of Cuando Cubango happens today in this city, under the National Plan of Geology (Planageo), indicates a note from the Ministry of Geology and Mines.

The flight is in charge of the company Costa Negocios, one of the three service providers to Planageo, which will operate the air-geophysical survey of Area 2, which comprises the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico.

The act, to be chaired by the Minister of Geology and Mines, Francisco Queiroz, will be marked by a political ceremony that will be attended by members of the Government, the governors of the provinces of Huila and Namibe, as well as representatives of the Diplomatic Corps.

Last Thursday, the minister of Geology and Mines, Francisco Queiroz, attended the presentation ceremony of the tools of the Geological Institute of Angola to support Planageo, where data produced by Planageo are stored.

The minister said that at present, are created databases for the collection of all geological information within this great programme.

With a duration of five years (2013/2017), the National Plan of Geology is an investment of the Angolan State valued at about 40.5 billion Kwanza.
