Uganda: UPDF Denies Killing Suspect

The UPDF has been accused of deadly torture, after a rebel suspect in custody died mysteriously and was hastily buried.

Capt John Bosco Lutwama's family and lawyers claim he was tortured to death, and they were stopped from conducting what would have been an incriminating postmortem. But the army says that Capt John Bosco Lutwama, arrested with 60 others for allegedly plotting to attack Kabamba army barracks last month, died of pneumonia.
