Ghana: 2014 GNSS Stakeholders Conference Launched in Accra

The Ghana National Service Scheme (GNSS) has officially launched 2014 GNSS Stakeholders Conference dubbed 'Building Entrepreneurial and Employable Youth for National Service Scheme and Stakeholders'.

The Executive Director of GNSS, Mr Alhaji Alhassan Imoro, indicated that the Scheme which had its inception in 1973, deployed national service personnel in various sectors of our national economy to contribute to national development as part of their civic responsibility towards the state.

Mr Alhaji Alhassan added that the scheme started with 2,000 service personnel and now deployed over 80,000 today.

He said had resulted in increases in school enrolment and more tertiary institutions established to meet the educational and development needs of the country
