Kenya: Homa Bay's Awiti to Boost Livelihoods
By Robert Omollo
HOMA Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti has asked youth and women to support county government projects to improve their living standards. Speaking at Sero Youth Polytechnic in Homa Bay yesterday, Awiti said he is aware of unemployment and harsh economic times youths are facing.
"My government is determined to improving your lives. The projects will turn many of you into businesspeople," he said. Awiti said his government is talking to youth to enhance their participation in wealth creation. He asked youth, women and people with disabilities to apply for advertised county tenders for the 2014-15 financial year.
