Police have launched air surveillance and land patrols in pursuit of attackers who killed five people in Witu, about 40km from Mpeketoni on Monday night. Operation Commander Robert Kitur said they believe the attackers were between 10 and 15 people.
The attack came barely a week after the Mpeketoni attacks that claimed over 60 lives. The attackers left a chilling message that they would return to the area, “until our mission is accomplished”.
