Tunisia: Ben Jaafar Offers Condolences to Families of Victims of Road Accident in Thala

Bardo — President of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Mustapha Ben Jaafar, on Thursday, offered his condolences and expressed his deep sympathy to the families of victims of a road accident that took place on Thursday morning in Thala, Kasserine.

He wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

In a statement, Ben Jaafar commended the efforts of security units, civil defence teams and medics in the region for their quick intervention.

He called on road users to be vigilant to avoid tragic accidents with heavy human and material damage.

As a result, presumably, of a brake failure, An Algerian-registered car loaded with white cement coming from Feriana slid down the steep slope to the town of Thala.

The truck hit on its way twenty parked cars and two fruit sellers' vans and smashed the facade of a café.

Two people died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries, one during his transfer to the regional hospital in Kasserine and the other after hospitalisation.
