Monrovia — Several current and past officials of the state owned Liberia Petroleum and Refinery Cooperation (LPRC) and the Liberia Electricity Cooperation (LEC) are scheduled to appear before the Joint Public Accounts Committee of the Liberian Legislature on Friday June 27, 2014.
The public hearing is scheduled to take place in the William R. Tolbert Joint Assembly Hall of the Capitol Building at about 11:AM.
The invited personalities will respond to inquiries from members of the PAC currently reviewing Audit reports from the General Auditing Commission in keeping with the Public financial Laws of 2010.
Those mentioned in the report and expected before the PAC are Mr. T. Nelson Williams, the current Managing Director of LPRC and Mr. Harry Greaves Jr., the former Managing Director of LPRC respectively.
Others include the Deputy Managing Director for Administration Mr. S. Alfred P. Harris, II, and the Former Financial Comptroller Mr. Siaka Sheriff, and the Financial Comptroller/ GMAP Mr. John Liberg.
The Financial Comptroller of GMAP Mr. Kamau Lizwelicha, the Acting Comptroller of GMAP Mr. Rajan Labonte, the Deputy Managing Director for Operation Mr. Aaron Wheagar, the Director Mr. Joseph Dennis and the Director of Maintenance Mr. Sarlee Sartee as well as Felix Zeekeh - Director/MIS are also amongst individuals to appear before the committee.
Those expected to appear from the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) are Board Chairman, Mr. Ian E. Yhap, and Mr. Augustine Vandi - Board Member. The Former Acting Managing Director Mr. Joseph T. Mayah, the Giddings DMD/Adm Mr. Joseph T. Mohammed, the Former Comptroller A. Lahai and John W. Andrews, who is now the Comptroller are expected to be in attendance on Friday.
During the hearing they will answer to questions about the Fiscal Period under spotlight covers 2005-2007 as well as 2006-2008 Audit Report of the Liberia Petroleum and Refinery Corporation (LPRC) including the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC).
