Somalia: Al-Shabaab Say They Are Against Regional States

The spokesperson for the Al-Shabaab terrorist organization, Sheikh Ali Mohamud (Ali Dheere), reported to pro-Shabaab sites that they will stage fights against any individual involved in dividing the country into federal states.

Ali Dheere added that Western countries are behind the formation of federal states in Somalia, and because their aim is to 'divide & conquer' as well as split the country into sections.

"Today the entire country has been split into towns. Afgoye which is only 30km from Mogadishu, cannot apparently be controlled by personnel in Mogadishu, and those who refuse to do so will be in direct war with us (Al-Shabaab) as we cannot allow these people to refer the country as states." He said

The statement by the Al-Shabaab spokesman comes at a crucial time when In recent days the Somali Federal Government has recognized as a state and deemed it legal.
