Zimbabwe: Dynamos Take On Chicken Inn

CASTLE Lager Premiership champions Dynamos will seek to break barriers on Saturday when they clash against a Chicken Inn side they have never beaten in Bulawayo in three years.

Chicken Inn came into the league in 2011 and lost away in the first match before drawing nil-all in the reverse fixture. In 2012, Dynamos won 2-1, but lost 1-0 in Bulawayo. Last season, the two teams played two draws in Harare and Bulawayo-1-1 and 2-2.

After a morale boosting 1-0 win over bitter rivals Highlanders last week, Dynamos left for Bulawayo Friday morning with manager Richard Chihoro declaring they will win the tie.

"We are going there to win, no doubt. Everybody is raring to go and I am sure playing at Barbourfields is extra motivation for the boys because we rarely lose there. We have beaten How Mine and Bantu Rovers already and we are going to win this one," Chihoro declared.

The trio of midfielders Stephen Alimenda, Devon Chafa and Ronald Chitiyo are key to Dynamos' success in this match. Tawanda Muparati also returned to action last week and is another alternative.

Dynamos' problems are upfront where Washington Pakamisa and Patrick Khumbula have scored one goal each this season while Tafadzwa Rusike is yet to get off the blocks.

Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas was playing his cards close to his chest.

"It is going to be a tough match because we are playing the champions. But we are ready and the best team of the day will win," Antipas said.

Last week's hero at the Colliery, Thomas Chimenya will be the main man for Chicken Inn as they bid for a second successive win after a slow start to the season. But there is also the experienced duo of Ramson Zhuwawo and Clemence Matawu in their ranks.

Dynamos are third with 22 points while Chicken are on 19.

ZPC Kariba have the easiest game of the weekend when they face Chiredzi FC at Gwanzura and a goal harvest is expected while FC Platinum also host Bantu Rovers at Mandava as they seek only their fourth win of the season after 13 attempts.
