Nigeria: OPIC Expands Revenue Base - Beyond Ogun Serene Green Living

The geographical position of Ogun State is being explored maximally to expand the State's revenue base. All agencies of government are aggressively looking for ways to catch up with opportunities that abound for creative revenue profileas Ogun State opens for business; attracting world class investors to take advantage of industrial, recreational,and the infrastructural re birth of Ogun State to have competitive advantage, maximize economic gains and impact positively on the gross domestic products ( GDP ) of our nation's economy.

One of the key players in Nigeria estate industry, Ogun State Property & Investment Corporation ( OPIC ) is aggressively committing human and material resources to match the pace of economic activities and investors' forum target ; providing adequate world class industrial infrastructure and housing units.

Addressing journalists in Abeokuta, the Managing Director of OPIC, Babajide Odusolu unveiled the strategic policy of the organization to break grounds in estate commercialization, advisory / consultancy services; industrial ware housing / residential recreational facilities and gymnasiums.

His words: "The Corporation is no doubt making giant strides, identifying what the people want but not in place; and providing just that which the society lack to make living a worthy experience. Barrister Odusolu hyped the New MakunCity and Orange Valley estates as OPIC flagship in tune with Ogun State mission to rebuild and the efforts to create a conducive and business friendly environment that will motivate private investments and support industrial growth".

According to him, new Makun City is designed to be a catalytic hub with standard recreational facilities like nature and amusement park. In the heart of Sagamu interchange, the estate on completion is deliveringfour residential districts, one educational district with zones for day and boarding facilities and three commercial districts which include a regional/shopping district/bazaar, a multi - purpose convention centre and light industrial district.

He pointed out,that the The estate will have 5 bedroom villa with home office and Boys Quarters (BQ,) and already completed 4 bed room semi detached duplexes and BQ.

Odusolu confirmed that the first phase of Orange Valley was nearing completion while the second phase is expected to take off by August 2014.

He said that Orange Valley estate and New Makun City are designed to be " scenic and serene green living environment " for its residents,adding that these estates are to serve as suitable accommodation for increasing number of senior executives , residents and investors who with projected intense economic activities, maximize personal and companies' income, improve general economic activities and pay taxes voluntarily without being coerced.
