Kenya: Lands Team Revokes 100 Title Deeds

THE National Land Commission has revoked more than 100 title deeds acquired illegally across the country.

Chairman Mohamed Swazuri said most of the revoked title deeds are linked to historical injustices. Swazuri said the commission is mandated by the constitution to investigate land cases brought to them.

He was speaking in Shompole, Kajiado West on Wednesday, during a meeting with residents who allege that a group of individuals have grabbed their land and threatened to evict them.

They claim 14 people conspired with a foreign investor and changed the land's title deed.
