Tunisia's Transition Is Progressing Smoothly

Tunisia's President, H.E. Moncef Marzouki has assured the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma of smooth progress being made in the transition process in Tunisia. He said that after adopting the constitution, the country will be organising elections by the end of 2014.

Dr. Dlamini Zuma congratulated Tunisia for holding steadfast to this very important process, and pledged the AU's continuous support. They also discussed other issues of interest to both Tunisia and the Union.

Meeting in the margins of the 23rd AU Summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, the AU Chairperson and Tunisian President exchanged views on the threats of terrorism in the region, including the situation in Libya.
