Burkina Faso: President Compaore Briefs AUC Chairperson On Upcoming Youth Unemployment Summit

President Blaise Compaore of Burkina Faso has briefed the Chairperson on the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on preparations leading up to the Summit on Youth Unemployment scheduled for September 2014 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The AUC Chairperson Dr. Nkosazana and H.E. Blaise Compaore met in the sidelines of the 23rd AU Summit of Heads of State and Government, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

They discussed the situation in Mali where President Compaore is serving as a mediator, and he informed the Chair of his planned travel to Bamako to pursue the discussions. They also talked about the situation in Nigeria, and the regional engagement to find lasting solutions.

The AU Commission Chairperson expressed the continued support of the Union in firmly overcoming the threats of terrorism.
