Nigeria: NUPENG Threatens to Shut Down Chevron Operations

Warri — Oil production in Nigeria is bound to witness a further slide as the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Union (NUPENG) has threatened to shut down oil facilities belonging to Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) as a result of the sack of its members by the firm.

At a crucial meeting in Warri at the weekend, the Warri Zonal Council of NUPENG gave the American oil giants, a seven-day notice to recall its 154 members sacked by the company and also stop the alleged harassment of its members.
