Tanzania: Public Warned Against Fake Solar Power Appliances

TANZANIANS have been warned over saturation of counterfeit artefacts for solar power generation and appliances in the local market.

In that case, they have been advised to ensure that they purchase the solar power equipment from accredited agents to avoid consequences that would have been cause by applying such fake products.

The advice was issued at the ongoing 38th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) by Ensol Power Ltd Marketing Manager, Mr Samanchogu Kihore. ENSOL Power Limited, a solar energy firm from Tanzania, renowned for supplying of highest quality solar products and related components high level of technical support.

The company, which is also a corporate member of Tanzania Solar Energy Association, an umbrella organisation uniting all Renewable Energy (RE) practitioners, believes that using phony equipment would affect power systems.

"Members of the public must be extra careful. These fake appliances can generate power when placed under the sun for charging but when it rains they burst and get wiped out," he noted, adding that buying the equipments at certified shops was the only solution to do away with such unscrupulous deal.
