Uganda: U.S. Embassy Warns of Threat to Uganda Airport

Kampala — The U.S. Embassy in Uganda warns of a specific threat by an unknown terrorist group to attack the EntebbeInternationalAirport near the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

An embassy statement stated that it was handed information by the Uganda Police Force describing a "specific threat to attack Entebbe International Airport by an unknown terrorist group today, July 3rd, between the hours of 2100-2300 [1800-2000 GMT]."

"Individuals planning travel through the airport this evening may want to review their plans in light of this information," it added.

Ugandan police have issued several terror alerts in recent times, warning that the Somali Islamic extremist group al-Shabab may be plotting a major attack on Ugandan territory.
