Kenya: Champion Mutai Keen to Defend Title in Glasgow

Commonwealth Games 400m defending champion Mark Mutai hopes to defend his title at the 20th edition of the Games set for Glasgow between July 23 and August 3. Mutai, who clocked 45.44 to win the title in New Delhi in 2010, is however, aware of the stiff competition expected in Glasgow.

He said since winning the title, he has had so many challenges both in training and in competition. "I know the competition in Glasgow will be very tough," said Mutai. "My focus is to make it to the finals after which I will embark on the next step. I am also keen on helping the 4x400m relay team reach the finals. From there we can plan for a medal."
