Egypt: Report On Democratic Path in June Released, ANHRI Monitors 103 Protest Activities, 24 Verdicts Including 3 Executions of Mb Leaders

Cairo — The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHR) today released the third report of Lawyers for Democracy Network to monitor the democratic path during June 2014. The report monitors and quantitatively analyze the democratic path in Egypt throughout June, the protest activities and the political powers that organized them. Additionally, it monitors the circulating trials, verdicts and the attacks on the civil society groups as well as the media and press freedoms.

The report monitored 103 protest activities during the month, including 27 protests were attacked by the security bodies, while 76 protests weren't attacked. The biggest share of protest went to Muslim Brotherhood and the National Alliance to Support Legitimacy (NASL) through 51 ones. Meanwhile, the revolutionary and civil powers organized 20 various protests during June, and the universities' students organized 14 activities. Also, 18 protests, sit-ins and labor and social strikes were staged in June.
