Somalia: Traffic Cops Attacked in Mogadishu - One Dead, Another Wounded

As witnesses reported to Shabelle, armed assailants gunned down traffic cops working for the Somali Traffic Force in Mogadishu earlier today.

The two officers were on duty at a busy intersection near the Afisyoni military barracks in the Hamarjajab district of Benadir region when they were shot by the gunmen.

One was killed instantly whilst the other was severely wounded and rushed to a hospital in Mogadishu to stabilize his medical condition.

Locals confirmed to Shabelle that the perpetrators of the crime immediately fled the scene without leaving a single trace.

It was only a week ago when two other Somali traffic cops were also killed whilst on duty on Mogadishu's main road, Makka al-Mukarrama.
