Angola: Dongo Hatchery Center to Open Friday

Luanda — The inauguration Friday of the Dongo Hatchery Center in northern Cuanza Norte province will ensure national fish industry, artisanal to industrial and incubate two million of the new fish per year.

The new hatchery centre (local culture for breeding of fish larvae, shellfish and molluscs), is a project run by the Fisheries Ministry.

The project comprises two 3,000m2 tanks to ensure breeding in the hot period of the year and four 500m2 tanks for the cold season.

According to the document, the centre also has a fish feed mill with capacity to yield 200 kg per hour.

The centre is also designed for training of the future researchers and different professionals in the field.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended, among other figures, by chief of civil Office of President of Republic, Edeltrudes Costa, and Environment minister, Fátima Jardim.
