Nigeria: HURIWA Cautions Northern Governors

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), a pro-democracy and non-governmental organisation, has asked the Governor Babangida Aliyu-led Northern Governors Forum not to proceed with the rumoured plot to destabilise the ongoing National Conference because of the far-reaching decisions meant to address the longstanding issues of geo-political inequities in the country.

It warned the forum against kicking against the unanimous decision of the delegates to demand for creation of additional state in the South-east in order to bring the zone at par with other geopolitical entities in the federation.
