Nigeria: State Loses U.S.$2 Billion Annually to Gas Flaring - Environmentalist

Mr. Bassey, a delegate at the ongoing National Conference and member of the Committee on Environment, said on Tuesday in Abuja that the loss of such huge revenue to the activities of oil companies, constitutes an economic crime.

The delegate especially bemoaned that the flared gas also has a negative impact on the health of people in the area.
