Kenya: Crew Member of Ship Seized in Lamu Dies

One of the crew members of the ship intercepted off the coast of Lamu has diedin the vessel at the port of Mombasa.

Police sources said the Pakistan national might have died while disposing off the drugs in the ballistic tanks inside the vessel on Monday night.

Police are waiting for an autopsy report to determine the cause of the death.

A senior officer leading the operation told the Star samples of drugs were found in one of the portable tanks in the vessel as officers did a verification exrcise.

The recovered drugs, he said, were handed over to the government chemist for analysis.
