Tanzania: Legal Wrangling Stalls Hearing of Bahi MP Graft Case

LEGAL arguments between the defence and prosecution sides forced the Kisutu Resident Magistrates' Court in Dar es Salaam to postpone to August 12 the bribery trial facing Bahi lawmaker Omary Badwell.

The prosecutor from the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), Lizy Kiwia, had called an investigator, Emmanuel Koroso, to testify on the digital evidence following his involvement in fixing some equipment to record conversations between the complainant and the 43-year-old MP on the ruling CCM ticket.
