Liberia: Two Million Project to Modernize Public Sector

The Plenary of the House of Representatives has instructed its committee on Ways, Means and Finance, Good Governance and Judiciary to review and make recommendation on a Financing Agreement to modernize the public sector.

The Public Sector Modernization Project Financing Agreement was submitted by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to the Lawmakers for ratification on Thursday, 10 July.

The project is seeking to improve pay and performance management in ministries and strengthen payroll management in the Civil Service Agency.

The total cost of the project is two million one hundred thousand United States Dollars (US$2, 100, 000, 00) and will be implemented by the Civil Service Agency.

Plenary mandated the relevant committees to report within two weeks
