Egypt Opens Rafah Crossing to Receive Injured Palestinians

An official source said that Egyptian authorities opened the Rafah crossing to receive the Palestinians who were injured during the Israeli assault on the Gaza strip.

The injured Palestinians were transferred to Egyptian hospitals.

Dozens of ambulances and medical teams were rushed to the Rafah crossing to receive the Palestinian victims, the source said.

Egypt's Ambassador to Palestine Wael Nasr El-Din said that Arish hospital has been prepared to receive all emergency cases.

He noted that some of the injured were transferred to hospitals inside Cairo.

An Israeli operation dubbed "Protective Edge" launched against Gaza early Monday, has since killed dozens and injured hundreds, in the deadliest day of violence in the coastal strip since 2012.
