Zimbabwe: Flames Ready for Karoi Utd

SEVEN Flames coach Kudakwashe Matuwi, who is currently on a massive player recruitment exercise, says they are ready to host Karoi United today at Gwanzura in a World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league tie.

Both teams are in the bottom half of the log with Seven Flames sitting on 17th place while Karoi United are just one place up the table.

The visitors are bubbling with confidence after they dismissed Royal Classic 4-1 in their previous game.

Matuwi said they know what to expect going into this match.

"We are ready but Karoi last week won 4-1, so morale is high in their camp. It might be tough but we are ready to face the challenge.

"In these games we have to start picking up points since we are left with three games before the end of the first half of the season.

"We also have the advantage of being at home," said Matuwi.

Matuwi said they can still navigate their way to remain in Division One as things are starting to shape up at the club.

"My boys are starting to learn playing in Division One for the first time so we don't have any pressure like those teams that have been in the league before.

"As a coach I want to win. We have agreed to work hard and everyone is putting in 150 percent effort," said Matuwi.

Matuwi last week registered central defender Blessing Mutsinze from Flame Lilly, but they are still facing some challenges in signing the remaining six players they are targeting.

"We are facing challenges with clearance from the teams, but the team manager is promising that it will work out.

"I hope we will be done by the time we get to the deadline," said Matuwi.
