Somalia: Somali Legislator Calls for Reconciliation in Hiran Region

A Member of the Somali Federal Parliament representing the Hiran region, Samira Hassan Abdulle, spoke to Shabelle and called on the tribal fighting on the outskirts of Beledweyne to stop immediately.

Ms. Abdulle described the intense clashes in the region as something to be ashamed off and called on the clan and traditional elders in particular to come together to stop the confrontations.

Only recently inter-clan militias fought on the outskirts of Beledweyne, the provincial capital city of Hiran region, allegedly over land or property.
