Uganda: Malaba Council Speaker Resigns

Malaba town council Speaker Andrew Orono Mugisha has resigned. Youth councillor Mugisha quit on July 4, after chairing a council session that approved the Shs 1bn development budget estimates for the financial year 2014/ 2015.

Mugisha told The Observer that he wanted to give the platform to other councillors. LC 3 Chairman George Alfred Obore, who described Mugisha as a brilliant and intelligent young politician, said he had no objection to the resignation.
