Nigeria: Etiaba - National Confab Has Achieved Its Objective

As the National Constitutional Conference gets into the last lap of its assignment, a lawyer and one-time governorship aspirant in Anambra state, Mr. Emeka Etiaba, has said the Confab has so far achieved the objective for which it was constituted because it has succeeded in exposing Nigerians to the feelings of her federating units.

Etiaba, a lawyer in an interview with THISDAY in Awka yesterday, described the confab as a welcome development. He said even as pessimists had argued that the reports of the confab may not form the foundation for any meaningful change in the country, the fact remains that it is one worthwhile venture which idea was to proffer holistic suggestions on how to move the country forward and douse unnecessary tensions in the land which have translated into social, religious, ethnic and security problems for Nigeria.
