Kenya: Girl's Head Cut Off in Kirinyaga

A form two student's head was cut off when a lorry knocked her at Kibingoti market on the Nyeri-Sagana road .

Mary Nyaguthii from Mukui Secondary School in Ndia constituency was vomiting through their bus window when an oncoming lorry knocked off her head.

The students were from a music festival in Nyahururu.

Area chief Samuel Karuditu said they are investigating the matter.

He urged students to be disciplined to avert such accidents.

Karuditu said they will educate students on the dangers of peeping through the widow while travelling.

He said school administrators should educate their students on the dangers of travelling with their heads out of a moving vehicle.

"When schools close, we are faced by a very dangerous situation since you will find many students in vehicles with their heads out. I'm urging school principals to tell the students the dangers of such activities," Karunditu said .

The body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home awaiting.
