Nigeria: SON Impounds Substandard Handsets

Lagos — Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) over the weekend swooped on Lagos Computer Village Ikeja where it confiscated suspected substandard telephone handsets worth over N200m.

According to the Organisation's Head of Intelligence and Compliance Directorate, Engr. Bede Obayi, who briefed the journalist after the operations, the exercise was diligently carried out as a result of its surveillance team's reports, which monitor products displayed for sale in all the markets across the country.
