Kenya: Lenku to Give Ethnic Audit of Police Jobs

INTERIOR Secretary Joseph ole Lenku will tomorrow provide Parliament with an audit of the ethnic balance in this week's police recruitment. In the response to be tabled by Majority Leader Aden Duale, Lenku is also supposed to provide the number of police recruits from each constituency.

On Monday, the National Police Service Commission began recruiting 10,000 applicants to the Administration, General Service Unit and the Regular Police. Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa sought the statement yesterday, saying there was "skewed hiring in terms of gender and regions".
