Namibia: Pastor On Trial After Inheritance Scam

A FORMER pastor of a Christian congregation in Windhoek pleaded not guilty to 15 charges of fraud or theft, involving a total amount of N$700 000, when he and two co-accused went on trial in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court in Katutura this week.

Japhet Sem, who is a former pastor of the Macedonia Congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN), went on trial before Magistrate Cosmos Endjala with a member of the congregation's church council, Eunice Nakapunda, and a fellow ELCRN pastor, Mark Beukes.
